Can’t Blog, Headache.

What with a splitting headache ruining all my fun today, I have come to the conclusion that I am utterly unable to think of anything of merit to say.
I hate how useless a headache makes me – It’s as if everything slides away and all that is left is pain and boredom. I think that’s the crux of it. Pain is unpleasant and awful and uncomfortable and above all, it’s boring. You can’t zap the painboredom away with activity or entertainment. It’s there to be endured, little else.

If I’m still in pain when I get home I’ll employ ‘Molly’s Patented Headache/Migraine Cure’. That would be a Voltaren Rapid 25, a Panadol, three big glasses of water and then a good twenty or so minutes lying on the shower floor while the water splashes down across my pathetic form like a waterfall. Also, tiger balm, just a spot on the temples or slathered liberally about the neck if that’s the cause of your head troubles (and for me it often is).

Do you suffer from chronic headaches too? Got any great remedies to suggest?

  1. Hope you feel better soon! Went to taekwondo tonight with nausea-inducing headache, but recovered, thank goodness. Mine are usually hormone and dehydration related. I use acupressure, lots of water, occasionally a hot shower and finally ibuprofen. Hope your cure takes care of it!

    • Thank you, I hope it does too! I did a very hearty session of Muay Thai on Monday, then my first Bikram Yoga class last night, I think that I may have tweaked something in my neck with all the activity. I’m flopping about in misery and wondering if I can ever just exercise vigorously again?

      • I can’t power through massive workouts anymore. What I have learned is that what happens between classes and workouts is just as important. I spend a lot more time stretching, using my sadistic foam roller and taking care of my feet (lots of warm soaks). It really prevents many more injuries that what I already get. I have to go roll out my ass (just sounds wrong) after working on side kicks tonight or else I’ll wake up with a monster backache. Take care of yourself, Molly.

        • All good advice. I’m thinking about going home to an Epsom Salts bath this afternoon. My sitting at a lame desk all day does me no favours. I think it’s a huge combination of things, both during exercise and in normal life, just as you said.

He he, ass rolling. Love it!
